The Harley Staples Cancer Trust is a charity in memory of our beautiful son Harley who lost his battle with a rare leukaemia B Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia Burkitt type in 2009, 9 months after he was diagnosed. Harley was just 8 years old.

While Harley was poorly people wanted to help and fundraising began in case Harley needed to travel elsewhere for treatment and also so that he could have special treats. As it happened there was no more treatment left that Harley could have had anywhere in the world so because we had accumulated quite a sum of money we decided to register the charity in August 2010.

We felt this was the least we could do after Harley had been our inspiration during his illness facing each day with a smile and laughter whenever he was well enough to do so. Everyday children are being diagnosed with cancer and the smallest thing that we can do to put a smile on their face whilst they fight their individual battles is something worth doing.
