Leicester City Football Club has launched its LCFC Foxes Foundation 'One In A Million' campaign - raising money for ten different charities and striving for a milestone for Foxes legend Alan 'The Birch' Birchenall.

The initiative is the first for the newly-formed LCFC Foxes Foundation, which is intended to be an independent registered charity.

The 2011/12 season-long 'One In A Million' campaign will see the Club endeavour to take the charitable funds raised by Club Ambassador Alan 'The Birch' Birchenall through the £1million-barrier, by raising £150,000 in 10 months. Thanks to the Birch's remarkable efforts during his 39-year association with the Club, the former Foxes midfielder has raised a staggering £850,000 for a variety of local and national charities, touching the lives of thousands with his selfless commitment to the community in Leicestershire and beyon

'One In A Million' will combine a host of fundraising events and activities spanning the whole of the 2011-12 season with the aim of achieving the £150,000-target, which will in turn provide the following ten partner charities with a minimum donation of £15,000, or one tenth of the total raised during the campaign:

The ten charities have been carefully selected based on their association with the Football Club, with the Leicestershire community and with Birch himself over the last 40 years and will be integral to the campaign over the course of the season.
Each of the charities is allocated ambassadors from the first team squad
